How we do it

Overview

Our Kindergarten provides a nurturing and enriching environment for young children starting from the age of 2.5. Here’s how we ensure that every child receives the best start to their educational journey:

  • Small Class Sizes: We limit our class sizes to an average of 18 children, allowing for individual attention and a supportive learning environment.
  • Qualified Teachers: Our experienced and qualified kindergarten teachers and teaching assistants are dedicated to nurturing each child’s development.
  • English Workshops: From the very beginning of schooling, we offer workshops in English to develop early language skills, starting as early as 2.5 years old.
  • Music and Body Awareness: Children engage in music and body awareness activities conducted in English, promoting creativity and physical development.
  • Linguistic and Cultural Discovery: Our “Eveil aux langues” workshops are co-taught by the class teacher and a native English-speaking teacher, offering children a chance to explore different languages and cultures.
  • Physical Education and Swimming: Physical activity is important for every child’s growth. We offer two periods of physical education per week, including swimming lessons starting from M3 (the third year of Kindergarten).
  • Vertical classes: We encourage cooperation and mutual support. Reception and M1 children as well as M2 and M3 children work together in double-level classes. This organisation enables the younger children to learn from the older ones, and the older ones to reinforce what they have learned by passing it on. It develops autonomy, cooperation, self-confidence and the pleasure of learning together.
  • Using nature to support learning: Our pupils regularly enjoy outdoor learning activities in the green spaces and natural areas surrounding the school. These places become real extensions of the classroom, where we observe, manipulate, experiment and cooperate. By alternating free play, guided projects and sensory discoveries, the children develop their motor skills, language, curiosity and connection with nature, in a stimulating and soothing environment.

Our approach focuses on creating a joyful, engaging, and safe environment where children can grow, explore, and develop essential skills in their early years.

Structure

Our 6 nursery classes offer a warm, safe and stimulating environment, where each child can develop at his or her own pace. Pupils are grouped into vertical classes (Accueil/M1 – M2/M3), encouraging mutual support, independence and a natural learning dynamic between peers. Thanks to caring supervision from teachers and nursery assistants, carefully designed spaces and targeted activities, children are happy to take part in the learning activities offered by the members of our team.

Ready for primary

Preparing for a confident entry into the first year of primary school from nursery school onwards, our teaching approach aims to develop independence, curiosity and a love of learning. Through structured rituals, language-rich activities, mathematical games, psychomotor skills and fine-tuning of writing skills, children gradually acquire the essential foundations for a confident entry into the first year of primary school.

In the third year of nursery school, pupils are invited to visit the first-year classes, meet their future teachers and familiarise themselves with their future school environment. This transition is prepared in close collaboration between the nursery and primary school teams, to ensure that it is a smooth and positive experience for each child.
