The Pathway to a Brighter Future
Encouraging Independent Learning for Life

Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to our Secondary School, where we guide students from first secondary (UK year 8/ US 7th grade) to graduation as confident, well-rounded individuals ready to face the future. We believe in a holistic approach to education that extends far beyond traditional classroom learning. While our curriculum provides a strong academic foundation, we equally prioritize the personal growth of each student, encouraging them to explore their passions and develop essential life skills.
Our diverse range of core courses and activities allows students to discover new interests and talents. In addition to academics, we offer unique programs and initiatives that broaden students’ perspectives, promote social contribution and the development of a wide range of skills. Programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh International Award and Mini-Entreprises offer invaluable learning and personal growth opportunities, preparing students to navigate the complexities of global citizenship.
In addition to these enriching experiences, we are dedicated to supporting students as they plan for their futures. Our guidance helps students explore career options.
We aim to prepare our students for brighter futures, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed in whatever path they choose.
Warm regards,

Our approach
At our Secondary School, we believe in a well-rounded approach to education that combines academic rigor with personal growth. We aim to create an environment where students are encouraged to explore their passions and develop essential life skills. Our curriculum is complemented by a wide array of extra-curricular activities, allowing students to discover and pursue new interests. Our tailored approach promotes both academic and personal success.
Beyond the classroom, we offer students the chance to participate in prestigious programs that provide hands-on learning and global perspectives. These opportunities equip students with the confidence and skills to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world, setting them on a path toward becoming capable and responsible global citizens.

English at Le Verseau
To remain true to the international vision of the school’s founders and continue to offer English teaching at an advanced level, providing the very best opportunities for students as part of our mission to build brighter futures, English courses at Le Verseau Secondary School are offered in addition to the standard Belgian (French Community) curriculum .
Those who choose to subscribe to the VSAL extra-curricular programme, benefit from high quality English lessons taught for 4 hours a week by qualified and experienced native speakers.
Learning takes place in small groups of 10 – 15 to promote a communicative approach and all participants have regular opportunities to validate their achievements by sitting internationally recognized language examinations offered by Cambridge University, appropriate to their level.
Whether they are talking and writing about their hobbies, performing extracts from Shakespeare in the original language or writing book reports, learners are encouraged to use English for both functional and creative purposes.
The programme designed for native speakers is similar to that taught in UK or American schools, whilst non-native speakers who complete the full 6-year VSAL programme acquire a level of proficiency which allows them to go on to work and study in English. The VSAL English programme truly enables students to go above and beyond.
Cambridge English O Level results
In 2024 a total of 20 students from Le Verseau took this international exam, designed for young people aged 16+ who attend English-speaking schools and for whom English is their mother tongue. We are delighted to announce that they all passed the and 10 of them obtained the highest possible grades (A or A*). These are exceptional results for students who attend a French-speaking school.
