English
A founding principle
The inclusion of English into Le Verseau’s academic structure is a fundamental aspect of the school’s founders’ vision to provide the very best opportunities for children and in our mission of building brighter futures.
Our integrated curriculum and external programmes span from initial introduction to the language and confidence building through to enhanced modules that develop valuable skill sets in oral, written and practical communication.

Elementary
At Le Verseau, English is offered as an enrichment to the official curriculum of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, from kindergarten and throughout primary.
This regular exposure to the language from an early age provides pupils with a learning experience that is coherent, engaging, and firmly oriented towards an international perspective.
Children benefit from small-group learning, tailored to their needs and led by native English-speaking teachers. The programme, developed specifically for our school and inspired by the British curriculum, allows for steady progression and the development of strong foundational skills in both spoken and written English.

Secondary
In Secondary School, English is offered as a paid option for those that wish to progress further with the language in order to support further education and international career opportunities.
The Enhanced English Programme (V+) is provided by Verseau Sports, Arts & Langues (VSAL), one of a number of not-for-profit organisations that supports the school. This unique programme (V+) includes a wide range of activities, both inside and outside of the classroom designed to both enhance their proficiency in English and international university applications.
There are proposals to extend the programme to include partnerships with English-speaking theatre groups, English-oriented excursions/trips and speech and drama lessons.
For more information and to sign up for the V+ programme visit their website.
Cambridge English ‘O’ Level results
In 2024 a total of 20 students from Le Verseau took this international exam, designed for young people aged 16+ who attend English-speaking schools and for whom English is their mother tongue. We are delighted to announce that they all passed the exam and 10 of them obtained the highest possible grades (A or A*). These are exceptional results for students who attend a French-speaking school.
